Operations Associate

The Operations Associate will be responsible for daily office management, driving employee engagement and satisfaction, performance review, training & development as well as assist with HR related tasks.  


Responsibilities:

  • Draft and manage overhead and operational costs and budgets as regards business operations

  • Implement and design employee training curriculum's to help foster team productivity and wellness

  • Facilitate quarterly events surrounding employee engagement and bonding

  • Manage daily office maintenance which includes but not limited to: Generator repairs/services, office supply management and inventory, building maintenance and improvements

  • Maintain team calendar to reflect all team birthdays, office events, approved leave dates and probation schedules

  • Assist with recruiting needs by attending interviews as advised by the Head of Ops.

  • Constantly be on the lookout on different opportunities to improve team processes

  • Assist in approving leave dates and make sure due processes are thoroughly followed

  • Monitor employee satisfaction and feedback through Officevibe - improve low metrics

  • Facilitate monthly team performance reviews

Requirements:

  • Has 2+ years of experience in similar role

  • Exhibits proficiency in budgeting and finance management 

  • Has some knowledge of process design in operations management

  • Has recorded success working in a startup and had direct involvement with improving team culture and development

  • Has the ability to juggle multiple priorities.

  • Has exceptional communication skills, and demonstrated ability to build high-trust relationships.

  • Has experience guiding cross-functional teams in a highly iterative, rapidly evolving agile environment.

  • Has a can do attitude and is flexible enough to take on any task we throw at them

  • Is passionate, hungry and eager to build SLA into a world class institution

  • Has high professional and ethical standards i.e. understands that there’s no such thing as African time – you’re just late

  • Is comfortable taking and giving feedback

  • Has a good sense of humour – because we’ll be working hard so we better keep each other entertained

  • Is comfortable working in a startup environment where we’re making the rules up as we go along.


Commitment:

  • Full time position


Hours of work:

  • 50 hours per week, usual working hours are from 9:00am - 6:00pm WAT.
  • There will be a requirement from time to time to start work earlier or finish later as the role
    dictates.
